In the face of rising levels of mental health problems for our children and young people ew can perhaps learn something from the wisdom and ways of indigenous people like the Hmong in Vietnam.
Family, wider community members, ancestors, nature and the spiritual world – in many indigenous cultures a child’s identity and wellbeing are deeply connected with them all and their wellbeing is some of the highest in the world, supporting the findings of neurology that wide and deep social connections support better mental wellbeing.
